Dr. Horne graduated from West Point in 1969 and was commissioned
a 2nd lieutenant in the Field Artillery. He served in Vietnam
and at Fort Carson, CO as a forward observer and battery commander.
While stationed at Fort Carson he decided to pursue an early
dream and applied for the military medical education program.
Dr. Horne was accepted by the Army program and Emory University
Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated with
his medical degree in 1977. He was promoted to major and returned
to Colorado to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora for
his internship and residency in urology, graduating from that
program in 1982.
Dr. Horne practiced as a staff urologist in the Army from 1982
to 1985 in Frankfurt, Germany and from 1985 to 1987 at Fitzsimons.
He was selected as chief of the Urology Service and director
of the residency training program and served in that position
from 1987 until his retirement from the Army as a Colonel in
1989. After three separate tours with the Army in Colorado,
he decided to remain here and in 1989, Dr. Horne joined Dr.
Galansky, whom he had known since their training days as residents,
at Urology Associates. Besides practicing general urology, Dr.
Horne has special interests in urologic oncology, reconstruction,
incontinence, and stone disease. He is board certified in urology
and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
