Vasectomy Instructions

For your convenience, we schedule your initial exam and vasectomy during the first appointment. If you would like to see the doctor prior without having the procedure, we will be happy to set up different appointment times.

Download the patient information and adult history form and bring with you to your appointment.

10 Days prior:

no Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil.

Purchase and athletic supporter or very tight underwear

1 Day prior:
If you are seeing Dr. Bell or Dr. Fagelson, please shave the scrotal area prior to your arrival to the office.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so 24 hours prior or you may be billed $100 late cancellation fee.

Day of Procedure:

Bring athletic supporter or very tight underwear to your appointment.

Please bring someone to drive you home after the procedure. You are not allowed to drive yourself home following the procedure.

6 Weeks After Your Procedure:.

Please bring your first specimen into our office for your first sperm count. Bring to the office within 2 hours of collection and between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm.

8 weeks After Your Procedure:

Please bring your second specimen into our office. You will need to specimens that are all clear of sperm before you can discontinue any birth control methods.
